The corrections work done inside of our facilities greatly impacts the success of individuals post-incarceration. Thanks in large part to our staff and programs, inmates have gone on to become business owners and peer mentors throughout New Mexico.
Our Programs
Rehabilitation programs play an intricate role in corrections; NMCD is more than prisons. We have a vision of a strong New Mexico, and in order to achieve that, our facilities offer both cognitive and vocational programs to inmates. These programs are meant to give them the skills and confidence to build better lives for themselves and their families.
Our People
The New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD) is comprised of more than 2,500 full-time employees. Every day, they strive to achieve our mission to create professional environments and safe communities.
