Send Money to an Inmate
The New Mexico Corrections Department offers two options for sending funds to incarcerated individuals housed in state prison facilities. Funds may be sent via money order or electronically using a debit or credit card. Additional details about both options are provided below.
Funds from individuals not on the approved visitation list will not be accepted. To view the visitation policy and access the application, click here.
Electronic Payments
Approved visitors can send funds online or through the Correct Pay mobile app using a credit or debit card. Funds are typically posted within 48 hours.

Important Information
Deposits must include the incarcerated individual’s:
- Full commitment name
- Inmate number
Money Orders
Approved visitors may send money order directly to the facilities. To view the visitation policy and access the application, click here.
Envelopes must include the inmate’s full name and NMCD number.
Important: All personal mail for inmates, must be sent to the Smart Communications addresses provided here.
