Northeast New Mexico Correctional Facility

In-person (Barrier) Visits-

In-person visits are conducted Monday – Friday and must be scheduled at least a week in advance.  Due to the distance people must travel to come to NENMCF for an in-person visit, we are allowing visitors the option of having a two-day visit. These visits would be scheduled for two hours on the first day & two hours on the second day. Days must be consecutive (Monday & Tuesday, Tuesday & Wednesday, etc.) & it must be the same visitors both days.

All In-Person (Barrier) visits will be NON-CONTACT unless the visitor is immediate family & proof of kinship has been provided.

NMCD defines immediate family as: 

an inmate’s legal spouse; natural parents; adoptive parents; stepparents or foster parents; grandparents; brothers and sisters; and children, natural or adopted, stepchildren or grandchildren. The term does not include an inmate’s aunts, uncles, or cousins unless a bona fide foster relationship exists, nor does it include persons with a common-law relationship to an inmate 

General Population (GP) In-person Visits 

Will be scheduled in two-hour blocks: 8:00 am – 10:00 am, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, or 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

Restrictive Housing In-person (no-contact) Visits 

Will also be scheduled in two-hour blocks: 8:00 am – 10:00 am, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm  

Restrictive Housing Inmates who are on Disciplinary or PHD status are not allowed to have visits

Video Visits 

There will be no video visits scheduled through the facility.

All video visits are now being done through Smart Communication on the inmate tablets.

You must be approved through NMCD before you can schedule video visits.  

Weekend and Holiday Visit Information 

There will be no visitation on the weekends.

We do have visitation on most holidays.  

All visitors must be on the inmates’ current approved visitation list 

New visitation applications must be submitted every two years. 

Special Visits:

Visits authorized for inmates with individuals other than those on the approved visiting list, or visits authorized at a designated time other than regular visiting hours. Special visit requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis in accordance with established program requirements. No visits will be authorized except for those visitors approved by the institution or those approved for a special visit. All special visits (e.g., visitors traveling over five hundred (500) miles, prospective employers, law enforcement officers, etc.) may be requested using the Special Visit Request form (CD-100201.3). Visitors must have prior initial approval by the Unit Manager, Programs Director or Classification Supervisor and final approval from the Deputy Warden. Relatives who reside out-of-state and who seldom visit are not required to be listed on the inmate’s approved visiting card and may visit as a special visit with prior written approval.
