Public Relations

The Public Relations Office is dedicated to providing a transparent view of the Department as we strive to be honest and open as we interact with members of the media and the general public. Our office will provide timely and accurate information when responding to inquiries, and will provide appropriate access to our employees, facilities, policies and those entrusted to our care.

Media Inquiries

If you are a member of the media and have questions about our department or its employees please send an email to  nmcd.mediarequest@cd.nm.gov or brittany.roembach@cd.nm.gov

Your inquiries are always welcome. All New Mexico Corrections Department employee interviews must be coordinated through the Public Affairs Office.

Inmate Media Interviews

Inmates are allowed to give media interviews. First, the requesting reporter or news agency must file out the Media Request Form for Inmate Interviews form and send it to the Public Affairs Office. The inmate must respond in writing that they agree to be interviewed. At that point, please send email to   nmcd.mediarequest@cd.nm.gov or  brittany.roembach@cd.nm.gov

The Inspection of Public Records Act is intended to provide the public with access to information governmental affairs. The law requires public access to virtually all public records with a few exceptions most records are available for public inspection. Each state agency and local governmental entities have designated a records custodian to whom requests to inspect records should be addressed. To request to inspect records from this office please send a written request to:

Film Production at “Old Main”

Are you scouting for a film or commercial production at “Old Main”?

  • First Scout is free of charge (Scouts and tech scouts are limited to 6 hours on first scout. Maximum of 20 people per scout).
  • Prep: Call for daily fee
  • Shoot: Call for daily fee
  • Corrections Officer: Call for an hourly fee per officer while on property.
